One treasures them like his/her own blood, some grip them with the tightest grasp they can afford. Even when something as great as Tsunami strikes, MONEY is hugged close to the chests of many when escaping. To most human beings, it is an obligatory to possess them. Money is without doubt one of the, if not the most important and authoritative item to us. To many, money sets the standard of individuals they see. We are judged by the volume of money we possess. This eventually causes status discrimination. Those being witnessed splashing tonnes of cash are respected, being treated with the best manners one can find while the poorer ones are looked down, ignored and left out. Money is indeed important, but it shall never overpower one's character and behaviour. We should never judge anyone by money, and constantly remind ourselves of humility.
Anyway, Money is such an item that owns the ability to alter most outcomes of most scenarios. Here are 2 notable scenarios one can find in Malaysia..
Scenario 1: An initial 300 ringgit saman can be turn into a simple 50 ringgit bribe. Bribing is a habit. A deleterious one. The sparkling Anti Rasuah tag just another tag. It stops there. Thou i never had the chance on encountering potential bribing scenes, yet, through my friends, its just a 'wind down the window, fluff the green note and off you go' routine. Again turning to the US. My cousin was driving me around and he stopped on a carpark box for the disables. A policewoman immediately charge up. She flashes out a 300 dollar summon and it doesn't end there. She counseled my remorseful cousin for 5 minutes, telling him the consequences of doing so.
Scenario 2: An initial 10 years in jail can be just erased off with.. hmm.. six figures of ringgit? Dear oh Malaysia. We had seen enough of ministers, high profile VIPs escaping time behind the bars. When will money and status stop doing their work of wonders?

On Taxes and Benefits
Tax. It is a burden laid upon individuals to support the government. As a citizen, it is compulsory to contribute taxes. Tax may come up to 28 percent of an individual's pay in Malaysia. Without doubt, it is an obligation to contribute taxes. As we contribute, we expect benefits and favors from the government in return. This is certainly not the case in Malaysia. Benefits are given selectively. A particular race benefit most from our government. In most countries, all citizens will enjoy a plentiful of benefits when they retire. Minimum priority will be given to the main race. The disabled, and social outcasts of every race will obtain financial support from the government in most countries. For instance, I have a relative residing in the US. She is a widow with two kids and obtained her PR just a few years back. The government supports her with a few hundred dollars every month. Not only her alone but most with financial burdens would also be helped by the government. Cash and even low cost houses would be supplied, discounting religion or race of that particular individual. Pathetically, we Malaysians are experiencing something otherwise. A particular race receives enormous benefits from the government while we stare with amaze and at the same time, funding out taxes. Im never against the idea of the government funding the poor or handicaps of that particular race. But it would be better to fund the needy of other races as well. These needy from other races mostly obtain help from certain societies but not from the government. With the inflation rate rising, and high amount of taxes being paid, lives would be difficult for them without benefits from the government. This eventually contributes poverty. Im hoping that the government of Malaysia would relook at their "unjust benefits policy" and view every Malaysian with equality. Social equality is a stepping stone in moving towards our very own vision 2020.

Still annoyed
Yes, indeed, the government had act in a way that upset the indians of our beloved country. I can still recall UMNO general assembly being held on Deepavali, which is a nationwide-known public holiday. This shows that Indians are given no respect as their most imperative day was snubbed. You can imagine wad will happen if MCA's assembly was actually held on Hari Raya.
Recently, many from all walks of life hit the streets in numerous protests and campaign. These people are not trying to derange anything or to create chaos. But they are speaking out from their deepest and darkest desires, which is to have a better living. This better living of them requires a just and fair government. The government is the ruling power in a political society. It has to act in a way to please every citizen. Those illtreated will only get rebellious and turn their backs on the government.

Me
A Malaysian here.
Been a keen follower of the political scene. And it seems that blogging is a expanding and a vital medium in sharing political views. Major newspapers and other media sources only report limited happenings in the Dewan Rakyat. And those reported are selected in favour of partiucular parties. And only through politicians' blogs that Im able to find out what is actually happening everyday.
It was told that misusing a blog causes trouble. And i will only be posting personal views on how the country should act to improve the state of living of every citizen.
